JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Jacksonville University softball pitcher
Skylar Waggoner was voted a member of the All-ASUN Third Team the league announced Wednesday.
Waggoner joined teammates
Gabby Baylog (Academic All-ASUN) and
Alison Carter (Academic All-ASUN) on the conference postseason awards list.
The sophomore ace improved considerably over her freshman year, which saw her named to the ASUN All-Freshman team in 2024.
The Viera, Florida native notched a career-best 2.01 ERA in 2025 while setting a new career-high in wins with eight. She tossed 10 complete games including two shutouts. She gave up a career-low 105 hits and a career-low 46 runs.
Waggoner tied her career-high in season strikeouts with 73 including tossing a 10-strikeout game against West Georgia, a new single-game career mark.
In the conference landscape, Waggoner's ERA was third lowest. She pitched the ninth most innings (118.2) of all ASUN student-athletes and was ninth in total strikeouts.
Over the course of the season, the Dolphins went 6-2 when Waggoner went the full seven innings or more. Both loses came in nine-plus inning games. Waggoner closed the regular season with wins over Stetson and Queens before earning a win over North Alabama in the ASUN Tournament. Her postseason win over the Lions featured six strikeouts and no runs allowed.
Waggoner's ERA was the lowest by a Dolphin number one pitcher since 2021. She also extends the school's All-Conference streak to three straight years.
