Jacksonville To Compete At Dad Vail Regatta

PENNSAUKEN, N.J. --- The Jacksonville women's rowing team traveled to New Jersey this weekend to compete in the Dad Vail Regatta. This is the Dolphins' final event before they look to defend their MAAC Title next weekend.

Jacksonville will race a Single and then a Novice 4+ and Varsity 4+ this weekend. Sophomore Vivianna Coppa will compete solo again, fresh off winning at the Southern Intercollegiate Rowing Association Regatta two weeks ago.

The single time trial will open the weekend at 8:15 a.m. Friday. The Novice 4+ will start their weekend at 8:55 a.m. and the Varsity 4+ will go out at 10:55 a.m.

There won't be much rest for the Dolphins, as the semifinals start early in the Friday afternoon action. The single semifinals are set for 2:06 and 2:12 p.m., the Novice 4+ semis will launch at 2:36 and 2:42 p.m. and the Varsity 4+ will conclude Friday with the semifinals at 3:48 and 3:54 p.m.

If the Varsity 4+ qualifies for the third final group, that final will go off at 4:54 p.m. Friday.

Saturday's finale will open with the single final at 8:06 a.m. The Novice 4+ will have a secondary final at 9:12 a.m. and the grand final at 12:40 p.m. The Varsity 4+ will follow suit, with a secondary final at 9:12 a.m. and the grand final at 3:20 p.m.

All are eager to put it all on the line this weekend.

We are all very proud of them and have no doubt that this will be a fun weekend of racing."
