Jacksonville Men’s Basketball Unveils 2025-26 Roster

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The time has come.

Tuesday, the Jacksonville University men's basketball team announced its roster ahead of the 2025-26 season. 

Jacksonville added 10 players to its roster to go along with its seven returners from last year's run to the College Basketball Invitational. From top-flight freshmen to coveted transfers, Jacksonville's new roster has the pieces to make big things happen this coming season.

"We had to recruit to replenish a lot of the production we had last year, and we are excited about the skill-set and talent we brought in," head coach Jordan Mincy said. "At the same time, the biggest thing we have taken from this summer is the type of overall character of man we have on this roster. We feel like our character, along with the talent we brought in, can help us in a big way this upcoming season." 

 
Charles Caporaso, sophomore center
Lake Mary, Florida | Transfer from Coffeyville Community College

Caporaso played in 55 contests at Coffeyville with seven starts across two seasons. In his second season at Coffeyville the big man averaged 5.3 PPG and 4.2 RPG. Scored a career-high 18 points Independence CC on March 6, 2025.  
Michael Harper Jr., freshman guard
Jasper, Florida

Adding depth at the guard position, Harper comes to JU after a successful high school career playing for Hamilton County High School and Process Basketball Academy. At Process, Harper scored 40 points in four straight games including a 45 point, 19 rebound outing.  
 
Jaylen Jones, junior guard
Nashville, Tennessee | Transfer from Oakland

Jones comes to Jacksonville with a litany of high-level experience. In one season at Oakland, Jones appeared in 32 games. Prior to Oakland, Jones played 31 games at Tennessee State, averaging 9.1 PPG. As a prep player, Jones was named Max Preps Player of the Year while at East Tennessee Magnet.    
 
Jaylen Jordon, senior forward
Hilliard, Florida | Transfer from Flager

A local player, Jordon is poised to be an enforcer around the rim. While at Flagler, Jordon started all 27 games for the Saints. He led his team in rebounds per game and was third in points per game, posting 13.0 PPG and 7.8 RPG splits. He also swatted away a team-high 20 balls. His biggest accomplishment was recording eight double-doubles last year, including five straight to start the season.  
Chris Lockett Jr., sophomore guard
New Orleans, Louisiana | Boise State
 
Another former prep star, Lockett comes to Jacksonville as a former Gatorade Player of the Year. In his first full season at Boise State, Lockett appeared in 25 games with five starts. Lockett played 12.6 MPG last season, averaging 3.1 points per game and 1.4 rebounds per game. During the 2025 spring semester, Lockett was Academic All-Mountain West.
 
Roman Loux, freshman guard
St. Augustine, Florida

From right down the road in America's oldest city, Loux comes to Jacksonville via Tocoi Creek High School. Last year, Tocoi made it all the way to the Florida 6A State Semifinals.


Evan Sterck, freshman guard
St. Louis, Missouri 

A big-time playmaker out of Missouri, Sterck made his way to Jacksonville after a stellar career at Gainesville, Florida's The Rock school. During his junior season, Sterck helped lead The Rock to its fifth straight state title, averaging 15.5 PPG and seven assists. Last season, Sterck helped lead the The Rock to Florida's 15th ranked high school basketball team.
 
Jason Thirdkill Jr., senior forward
Detroit, Michigan | Transfer from William Jewell
 
Thirdkill Jr. brings the energy in every way to Jacksonville basketball. His infectious happy personality seeps into every aspect of the team and its culture. On the court, Thirdkill Jr. will be just as important. Playing at D2 William Jewell, Thirdkill Jr. was named to the 2025 GLVC All-Defensive Team. He finished sixth in the GLVC in blocks while also stuffing the stat sheet with a team-best 7.2 boards per game. His 52% shooting was best on the team.
 
Allen Udemadu, senior forward
Lagos, Nigeria | Missouri State
 
Udemadu has been the heart of the weight room during his time at Jacksonville. He comes to Duval County after stops a Missouri State, Morgan State and Florida Southwestern. The Nigerian big man has appeared in 65 career college games giving Jacksonville a wealth of experience and leadership.  
 
Hayden Wood, freshman guard
Springdale, Arkansas

Wood is yet another championship-caliber player that the Jacksonville coaching staff added to its roster. In his last year at Har-Ber High School, Wood helped lead his team to the 6A West Conference championship.
