JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - Both Jacksonville men's and women's cross country teams completed its first competition at the UNF Invitational on Saturday morning. The women finished in 8th and the men claimed 10th.
WOMEN'S 5K
The Dolphins scored 242 points to finish eighth overall in the women's 5K. JU was 67 points behind seventh place and 71 back from sixth in a strong field.
Isabel DeVos paced the Dolphins with a 35th-place finish, crossing in 19:07.8.
Eryn Field (52nd, 20:26.7) and
Josephine Leonard (53rd, 20:28.4) followed close behind, while
Annah Priyadi (56th, 20:34.1) and
Alexis Garza (70th, 21:37.1) rounded out the scoring.
Leah Daniel capped the lineup for JU, taking 79th with a time of 22:17.9.
A total of 107 runners from 16 teams competed in the event.
MEN'S 8K
Jacksonville finished 10th overall in the men's 8K with 289 points and an average time of 29:41.
Noah Maske led the way for the Dolphins, placing 90th with a time of 29:07.4, followed closely by
Gabe Edwards in 91st at 29:07.5.
Paul Svilokos (100th, 29:59.2) and
Robert Welling (102nd, 30:05.3) were next across for JU, with
Diego Corchado (103rd, 30:05.4) and
Ashton Sarrion (104th, 30:05.5) finishing right on their heels.
Jovan Figueroa closed out the lineup in 115th at 32:45.2.
Notably, Corchado, Sarrion, and Figueroa crossed the line together in a close pack, showcasing strong team presence in the late stages.
