JACKSONVILLE, Fla. –
Nahne Paulsen has been named the ASUN Defensive Player of the Week after helping the Dolphins finish unbeaten against South Florida and Bellarmine.
The recognition marks Paulsen's first career ASUN Defensive Player of the Week honor and Jacksonville's first since
Logan Hall earned the award on Oct. 6, 2025.
Paulsen contributed on both ends of the field in Saturday's 1-0 victory over Bellarmine at Southern Oak Stadium. The graduate student assisted
Jake Waters' game-winning goal in the 18th minute and played all 90 minutes on a back line that limited the Knights to seven shots and just one on target.
Jacksonville held off Bellarmine's second-half pressure, including six corner kicks, to preserve the shutout and secure its first ASUN victory of the season.
Earlier in the week, Paulsen logged 65 minutes in Jacksonville's 2-2 road draw at South Florida. The result completed an unbeaten showing against American Conference opponents this season, following the Dolphins' 1-0 road victory at Memphis on Sept. 29.
Paulsen finished the week with 155 minutes and an assist as Jacksonville improved to 5-5-3 overall and 1-3-2 in ASUN play.
The Dolphins return to Southern Oak Stadium on Tuesday, Oct. 20, hosting Mercer at 5 p.m. for Senior Day.
