Havig Earns Second ASUN Goalkeeper of the Week Honor

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Jacksonville University men's soccer goalkeeper Simen Havig has been named the Atlantic Sun Conference Goalkeeper of the Week, the league announced Monday. It marks his second weekly conference honor of the season and his career.

Havig earned the recognition following a six-save performance in Jacksonville's 1-0 road victory over Memphis on Tuesday. The junior made four saves in the opening half before adding two more after halftime, securing his second clean sheet of the season.

The shutout helped Jacksonville earn its first-ever victory over Memphis while handing the Tigers their first home loss of the season. Havig held Memphis scoreless despite facing 20 shots, preserving an early lead established by Romain Spailier's goal just 33 seconds into the match.

Following the victory, head coach Ali Simmons praised Havig, calling him, "the best keeper in the conference."

"He manages the tempo of the game well, he has great communication. He's an outstanding goalkeeper, and we're lucky to have him," Simmons said.

The performance also marked a full-circle moment for Havig, whose first collegiate shutout came against Memphis on Sept. 7, 2025. He recorded four saves in that scoreless draw and has now totaled 10 saves without allowing a goal in 180 career minutes against the Tigers.

Through eight starts this season, Havig ranks among the ASUN's top goalkeepers, sitting second in both save percentage (.795) and goals-against average (1.00). He has recorded 31 saves across 720 minutes, with two shutouts. Jacksonville's defense has allowed just eight goals through nine matches, averaging an ASUN-best 0.89 goals conceded per game.

Havig previously earned Goalkeeper of the Week honors on Aug. 24 after leading Jacksonville to road victories over Houston Christian and Incarnate Word. He recorded eight saves across those two matches, including a four-save shutout against Houston Christian that marked his first collegiate victory.

The Dolphins (4-3-2) return to action Tuesday, Oct. 6, traveling to Atlanta to face Georgia State. Kickoff is scheduled for 6 p.m.
