Dolphins Downed By Stetson

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The Jacksonville Dolphins fell in the team's second to last regular season match of the year, 3-2, to the visiting Stetson Hatters Sunday afternoon.

The match's result moved JU to 5-7-4 overall and 3-4-2 in conference play. After previously being undefeated at home, the 'Phins have dropped their last two matches inside Southern Oak Stadium.

However the result didn't eliminate the Dolphins from postseason competition, as the program clinched its ASUN Tournament postgame. In all three years under head coach Ryan Moon the team has made postseason competition. The streak matches the longest such streak since 2015-2017 of three straight tournament appearances under then-head coach Brian Copham.
Jacksonville threw the first punch in Sunday's game when Madelyn Radtke knocked a ball through on an assist by Olivia Peal. The goal was Radtke's first of the year and Peal's second assist of the year. At half, the match was tied 1-1.

Stetson then rattled off two goals of its own to take a 3-1 lead before Millie Urquhart scored her third goal of the season, good for second on the team. Saki Sanno got the assist on Urquhart's goal, her team-leading fourth of the season.

Despite a handful of chances in the game's wanning minutes, JU couldn't find the back of the net to equalize the game. By game's end, Jacksonville had a commanding 20-8 lead in total shots. Jacksonville now has five games with 20 or more shots, three of which have come in conference play.

Sanno led the charge with seven shots total. Julia Delprat and Radtke had three shots each.

In net, Sofia Mosquera made the start once again. She made four saves, the second time this season where Mosquera has saved four shots.

Jacksonville now turns its attention to the River City Rumble part two, when JU plays host to UNF on Halloween day. Kickoff for the home edition of the Rumble is set for 4 p.m. Jacksonville previously defeated the Ospreys 4-3 at UNF earlier this year.
