Women’s Soccer Completes Sweep Of North Florida

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – For the first time in rivalry history, the Jacksonville Dolphins have completed a two-game season sweep of UNF, winning 2-0 on Sunday afternoon.

Jacksonville finished its regular season with a 6-7-4 record and a 4-4-2 record in ASUN play, including two thrilling wins over North Florida both home and away.

Last season, JU earned a win and a draw over the Ospreys but went the full distance behind a pair of goals from JU's biggest stars at home.

Three-time ASUN Defensive Player of the Week Millie Urquhart scored the game's winner in the 48th minute off an assist in the box by Nahia Morales Lopez. And then it was none other than Julia Delprat who capped things off and sent the Dolphins into the playoffs in style.

Madelyn Radtke was fouled in the box in the 67th minute setting up Delprat for a penalty kick. The sophomore buried it in the bottom left corner in emphatic fashion to seal the win for good. After the penalty, Delprat leads the team in total goals with five. Urquhart is tied for second on the team in goals with four.

Delprat was second on the team in shots with two, tying Radtke, but behind Saki Sanno's four. Delprat did lead the team in shots on goal with two.

As impressive as the offense was junior keeper Taylor Gardner who pitched a shutout in net. It was Gardner's third full 90-minute shutout of the year, and JU's first shutout win over UNF since 2023. She made three total saves in net.

Jacksonville's defense limited UNF to its tied for second worst shots on goal number all season with just three. It was tied for the Osprey's worst showing in ASUN play in shots on target.

The Dolphins now turn their attention to the postseason where the program has earned the #5 seed. Jacksonville will play fourth-seeded West Florida in Ft. Myers against at FGCU. JU is playing in its third consecutive postseason under head coach Ryan Moon and will look to avenge its earlier season loss to ASUN-newcomer UWF, 3-1, in Pensacola.

The time for Thursday, Nov. 5th's contest is 7 p.m.. The game will be broadcast on ESPN+.

COACH'S COMMENTS
