Jacksonville To Complete Regular Season At Dad Vail Regatta

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. --- The 2026 rowing regular season is coming to a close, but the biggest event of the season remains for the Jacksonville Dolphins. JU will ship up to New Jersey for the Dad Vail regatta, the biggest event of the season for the Dolphins.

The top four finishers in the Varsity Eight will earn an automatic bid into the Intercollegiate Rowing Association National Championships. Other top finishers from this weekend will also be eligible to qualify as an at-large at IRA Nationals.

The first Varsity Eight starts its journey Friday with an opening time trial at 10:20 AM Friday morning. From there, the two semi-finals are scheduled for 5 and 5:05 PM, closing out Friday's day of racing.

The grand final --- the O'Brien-Hanna Trophy --- is scheduled for 2:40 PM Saturday. The petite final takes place right before at 2:30 PM.

In addition to the first Varsity Eight, the Dolphins will row two additional eights and a pair.

The pair is the first crew on the water for JU this weekend, starting in a time trial at 8:20 AM. The semi-finals are slated for 1:35 and 1:40 PM Friday. Final three is later that night (4:25 PM), then the two final is at 8:12 Saturday morning. The Negaard Cup Grand Final will be hosted at 12:20 Saturday.
