Dolphins End Regular Season At Dad Vail Regatta

PENNSAUKEN, N.J. --- The 2026 regular season has come to a close for Jacksonville men's rowing, as the Dolphins competed at the Dad Vail Regatta on the Cooper River in New Jersey. Jacksonville rowed four crews, three Varsity Eights and a Varsity Pair, on the weekend.

The first Varsity Eight finished in 12th place overall. They opened the week with the 05:34.891 time in the opening time trial. From there they competed in the semi-final, posting a 05:57.090 finish, booking a ticket in the petite final Saturday afternoon.

There they posted a sixth-place finish in 05:59.630, finishing as the 12th best crew at the regatta.

Jacksonville's top overall finisher was the Pair. A 07:29.405 opening time trial was only the beginning as JU's duo turned in a second-place finish in the semi-finals, racing in 07:42.430. In the Grand Final --- the Negaard Cup --- the Dolphins placed fifth in 07:51.160.

The second and third Varsity Eights raced in the third and second finals, respectively. The second Varsity Eight opened with a 05:53.445 time in the time trial, then landed in the third final, placing second with a 06:03.980 time. The Dolphins were 14th overall in the event.

The third Varsity Eight finished eight overall. JU opened with a 06:08.131 time trial, then finished fourth in the semi-final with a 06:25.720 time. They finished second in the second final, racing in 06:34.870.
