PITTSBURGH, Pa. --- The Jacksonville Dolphins finished their run at the Panther Challenge Sunday, falling in four sets (16-25, 20-25, 25-16, 18-25) to the High Point Panthers.

JU (4-5) was led by Abbie Tuyo and Claire Mrukowski on the offensive end, with the veteran duo collecting 11 and 10 kills, respectively.

Set One
Mrukowski started the match strong, recording four kills in the first set. High Point had the upper hand, though, taking 10 of the final 12 points en route to a 25-16 first set win.

Set Two
There was little to separate the two sides early in the second. Kathryn Adler fired a kill to make it a one-point game at 7-6 High Point.

The Panthers started to pull away from there, reaching set point at 24-16. The Dolphins tried to fire off a late rally, with a Tuyo kill and a block helping key a 4-0 JU run. Ultimately, it wouldn't be enough as High Point won the set 25-20.

Set Three
After dropping the first two sets, the Dolphins rallied to force a fourth. The set was within almost the entire early part of the game. In the early going, the Dolphins found their offense led by three Tuyo kills.

Neither side led by more than two points until JU found its rhythm late. Leading 17-16, the Dolphins ripped off eight-straight points to seize the set and force a fourth. Jaylyn Tuiasosopo was the difference maker with her serve, recording three service aces including set point.

Set Four
Jacksonville was in the fight early in the fourth, settling in for another tight contest. Freshman Daiangelie Gonzalez, who tallied a new career-high five kills Sunday, hit a powerful shot to give JU the early lead, 11-10.

The two sides traded points before High Point found its closing gear, finishing out the set 25-18 to win the match in four.

Match Notes

• The Dolphins tallied nine blocks, with Alija Heins (five) and Addison Krieger (four) leading the line.
• Tuiasosopo leads the ASUN with 0.55 service aces per set.
• Mrukowski has double-digit kills in back-to-back matches for the first time this season.

The Dolphins will play their final non-conference tournament of the season next weekend down in South Florida at the FIU Invite. The first match against Alabama A&M is slated for Friday, Sept. 18 at 11 AM.
