JACKSONVILLE, Fla. --- The Jacksonville Dolphins will take their talents to South Beach this weekend for the final non-conference tournament of 2026 at the 305 Classic, hosted by FIU. This is JU's first trip down to Miami since 2023.

The Dolphins are coming off a 1-2 weekend at the Panther Challenge, hosted by No. 2 Pittsburgh. Jacksonville fell to the Panthers and reigning Big South champions High Point, but collected a sweep against Wright State.

JU will face Alabama A&M for the second time in program history to open the tournament Friday morning. The Dolphins swept the Bulldogs in their only ever meeting in 2018.

Alabama A&M is a program on the rise in the SWAC. The Bulldogs posted a 19-12 record last season, their best mark since 2019. This year, they're off to a solid start posting wins against West Georgia, Georgia State and NC Central highlighting a .500 start to the season.

The Chippewas are in a new era under second-year head coach Arielle Wilson. They've faced a challenging non-conference schedule, battling the likes of Auburn, Michigan State and Washington State to open the season.

The Dolphins have never faced off against Central Michigan on the volleyball court.

Saturday will be renewal to an old intrastate rivalry between JU and FIU in volleyball. The programs have faced off 29 times over the years, but this is the first match since the Panthers swept the Dolphins in 2023.

FIU is off to a strong start under first-year head coach Flavia Siqueira. The Panthers notched a marquee win this past weekend, sweeping the Florida State Seminoles. FIU's roster is true to the university's "International" moniker, featuring nine players from outside the United States.
