If you ask Trudy Walker to describe herself, she'll likely tell you she's resilient, a baller, an optimist. She won't mention the fact she spent her entire childhood scraping for food, fending off sexual abusers, and dealing with a family that didn't always have her best interests in mind. You'd never know the ASUN Conference's 2018-19 rebound leader once considered giving up basketball, and at one point even contemplated taking her own life.

In fact, the only people who knew the true nature of her suffering, took advantage of it. That all changed on a March day in 2013 when she decided enough was enough. It was time to take control of her life.
