DELAND, Fla. – Jacksonville University baseball redshirt-junior shortstop
Dakota Julylia was recognized as part of the ASUN Baseball Championship All-Tournament Team on Sunday.
The recognition is the latest accolade for the Lake Worth, Fla. native, who was also named the conference's Defensive Player of the Year and First Team All-ASUN earlier this week.
Julylia set the tone offensively for the Dolphins at the top of the order all week, collecting seven hits in 17 at-bats, including two doubles, while driving in three, reaching base additionally on two walks and a hit-by-pitch and laying down four sacrifice bunts.
Defensively, he also showed why he was voted the best defensive player in the league, helping to turn five double plays while making several highlight plays at short throughout the course of the week.
Julylia, who sat out all of last season due to injury, has made the most of his first season back, setting new career-highs in batting average, extra-base hits, RBIs and stolen bases, while playing stellar defense all season. His conference awards are his first since he made the All-Freshman Team back in 2016.
