Raza Goes Low to Lead Dolphins on Day Two of White Sands Invitational

PARADISE ISLAND, The Bahamas – Filip Raza shot a second round 69 to lead Jacksonville University men's golf, who are in sole possession of sixth with one round to play at the White Sands Invitational.
 
Weather impacted some of the play on the second day of the event at the Ocean Club Golf Course.
 
Raza made five total birdies and is tied for 10th on the leaderboard. His day started with three straight pars and then a birdie to get to 1-under. He bogeyed two of his next five holes, but he closed his round strong, birdieing three of his final eight holes and making par on the rest.
 
Alexander Vandermoten was the pinnacle of consistency in his second round, with no holes worse than par for the day. He made par on his first 10 holes birdied two of his next three, and ended the round with five consecutive pars again. He is T15 with one round to play.
 
After making seven straight pars to begin the day, Grant Haefner battled the winds to bogey three of his next eight. He closed strong, with two pars and a birdie in his final three of the day, and is T22 going into the final round.
 
Joseph Sullivan made an eagle, birdie and 11 pars and Josef Hacker made 15 pars and a birdie in their second rounds.
 
The Dolphins are 16-under on Par-5s this week, and lead the field with 122 total pars made. Raza is 5-under on Par-5s himself, tied for third-lowest score in the field and Joseph Sullivan is 4-under, and Hacker and Vandermoten both 3-under on the Par-5s as well.
 
Final round action is scheduled for Sunday at 8 a.m. with a shotgun start.
