ESTERO, Fla. --- The penultimate tournament of the fall golf season has come and gone, with the Jacksonville Dolphins turning in a strong showing at the West Bay Collegiate Invitational at the West Bay Golf Club.

In the three round, 54-hole event, Jacksonville finished nine-under par as a team, good for 10th in the 15 team field. The Dolphins got better every round of the tournament. After a seven-over first round, Jacksonville posted five-under and 10-under second and third rounds.

Junior Brandon Lohr was JU's top finisher, posting a tie for 11th. For the tournament, he shot six-under par, tied for his third-best score to par in a 54-hole tournament. Lohr opened with an even keel one-over 73 before turning it on the second and third rounds.

In round two Monday, Lohr birdied three of his final four holes en route to a four-under 68. He followed that up with a strong three-under 69 to secure his place in the Top 12.

Two more Dolphins joined Lohr in red figures for the tournament. Sophomore Evan Raynor and junior Andrew Morgan both finished one-under for the week to secure T37 finishes.

Morgan was one of JU's top performers throughout the tournament. He opened with an even-par 72. His best round of the week came later on Monday with a two-under 70. He started the round hot with an eagle on the Par Five second hole, adding two birdies coming in on the back nine.

In the final round, he started two-under through nine holes before coming in three-over for the back nine and carding a one-over 73 for the round. He continues his explosive birdie average for the season, posting 11 birdies and an eagle in 54 holes.

Raynor started the tournament six-over through his first nine holes before taking over the rest of the way. On the back nine of his first round, he carded three birdies to steer the ship for an eight-over 80.

He followed that up with a three-under 69 in the second round, carding six birdies and an eagle along the way. All of that was the preamble to the best round by a Dolphin this season.

In Tuesday's final round, Raynor started red hot. He birded six of the first nine holes to card a five-under 31 on the front nine. Two more birdies coming in on 17 and 18 resulted in a six-under 66.

Raynor's Tuesday 66 is a new career low for the sophomore from Jacksonville. He now has three rounds in the 60s this season as he becomes a fixture of the Dolphins' lineup.

Junior Andrew Sevene posted the next best finish by a JU player, placing T69 with a seven-over tournament score. He was another 'Phin who got better as the tournament went on, carding rounds of 75 and 76 on Monday before closing with a strong even-par 72.

Two freshmen closed out the lineup for Jacksonville. Competing in the lineup was Sean Reddy who finished in 73rd place. He posted the first three birdies of his college career en route to a solid three-over 75 in round one. Reddy ended Monday with an eight-over 80 in round two.

In the final round, Reddy showed a new gear posting five birdies in a one-under 71.

Fellow freshman Billy Ver Straate competed as an individual in the tournament, finishing T81. He opened his college career with a six-over 78 before scoring his first three birdies in a three-over 75 in the second round. He closed the tournament with a seven-over 79.
