JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The Jacksonville University women's track and field team wrapped up the 2021 edition of the ASUN Outdoor Championships on Saturday night, finishing third overall with 122.5 points and six gold medals.
One of many highlights for the Dolphins on Saturday was the 4x100m relay team of
Pashen Williams,
Shalah Smiling,
Alliann Johnson and
Sadae Davidson. That group blew past top seeded Liberty to claim gold and an ASUN title in 45.29. That same group rolled easily to the top of the podium in the 4x400m relay in 3:42.51 with the silver medal squad crossing in 3:50.74. Davidson and Williams then battled to the end in the 400m dash, finishing first and second, respectively, with times of 54.53 and 54.84.
In the field events,
Adja Sackor got things rolling on Saturday by making some history. She set a program record, an ASUN record and now ranks Top 10 nationally with her triple jump of 13.40m.
Kristi Snyman continued her breakout debut campaign by leaping 1.77m in the high jump, just shy of her own program record but more than enough to claim gold and her first ASUN title.
Alyssia Richard earned silver in the discus with a toss of 45.57m.
Smiling and Johnson finished third and fourth, respectively in the 100m dash with times of 11.68 and 11.79. Smiling (24.02), Williams (24.30), Davidson (24.35) and Johnson (24.44) then finished third, fourth, sixth and eighth, respectively, in the 200m dash.
