JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Three Jacksonville Dolphins were named to the Academic All-ASUN awards list
the league announced Wednesday.
Sprinters
Mariandree Chacon and
McKayla Francis along with jumper
Julia Sue-Kam-Ling all were honored by the league office for their high marks in the classroom. All three student-athletes maintained above a 3.50 GPA for the spring semester and competed in over 50% of team competitions.
The trio helped JU to a 3.462 GPA as a team across the entire school year, a top 20% finish in program history.
Chacon posted a 3.734 across the school year in her major of exercise science. Francis earned a 3.867 towards her degree in political science. Sue-Kam-Ling finished her year with a 3.636, also earning her degree in exercise science.
Sue-Kam-Ling will be continuing her season at the NCAA East Regionals this week, where the junior will represent JU and the ASUN in the long jump. Chacon and Francis ended their seasons with a bronze in the 4x100m relay at the ASUN Outdoor Championship last weekend.
