ORANGEBURG, S.C. - After having to reschedule the competition from the previous night, Jacksonville University women's soccer dominated South Carolina State 7-0, as six different Dolphins scored to secure the season-opening victory.

This is the first season opening victory since 2017, and the program's first season opening victory on the road since 2015. JU also scored seven goals in one contest for the fourth time since the start of the program, the last occurring in October of 2005.

"We are so proud of our team," head coach John Constable said. "It is nice to see smiles on the faces and strong performances from both our starters and players who came off of the bench."

Dolphin newcomer Beyonce Robinson contributed two goals in the first half, alongside veteran forward Tinotenda Chiweshe, who scored one. This put JU at a 3-0 advantage going into halftime.

After taking the field for the second half, the Dolphins continued to find the back of the net.

Shelby Brim scored first in the half to extend the Dolphins lead to 4-0. Following behind, freshman Bella Ruggiano scored her first collegiate goal in her JU debut to change the score to 5-0.

In the last two minutes of the game, JU continued to press the Bulldogs.

Redshirt sophomore Olivia Abdallah and freshman Kaylee Anderson each scored to bring the final score to 7-0.

JU will return home to Southern Oak Stadium on Aug. 22 for its home opener against FIU. The match is set for 11:00 a.m. and features a free breakfast for fans, courtesy of game sponsor Dunkin' Donuts.
