Two Dolphins Finish in the Top-25 at The ASUN Championships

Huntsville, Ala – Jacksonville University Women's cross country competed Saturday morning at the ASUN Women's Cross Country Championship.

The team had two runners finish in the top-25. Hayleigh Haid crossed the line as the Dolphins top finisher as with a time of 16:49.90. Haid finished the event with the sixth fastest time in ASUN Championship history.

Emma Sullivan finished 22nd as she crossed the line with a time of 17:35.30.

Hayleigh Haid was named first team all-conference, and Emma Sullivan was named third team all-conference.

According to Head Coach Jordan Garman "The ladies gave a phenomenial effort today. I was honestly worried at the midpoint of the race since all but one was off pace, but they recovered well and finished spectacularly. Haid and Sullivan came away with all-conference honors. Three of our four freshmen came along way with strong PRs. We are young, so there is a lot of growth to be had. However I am very happy with where we are at and the future, especially considering the year everyone has had.The ladies are amazing people and very resilient."

The 5K event at John Hunt Park got started at 9:00 a.m., and featured runners from 10 colleges in the ASUN Conference.
