COLUMBIA, S.C. - Jacksonville Women's Track and Field traveled back to Columbia, SC on Friday night where they competed in the University of South Carolina Indoor Open. Freshman Madison Jones shined through for the Dolphins claiming first place in the women's mile run with a time of 5:03.76.
The Dolphins also saw great performances from both Sadie Morris and Emma Sullivan who placed within hundredths of a second of each other in the Women's 800 Meter Invite, running a 2:08.36 and 2:08.49 respectively.
JU also performed well in the field events with Adja Sackor leading the way for the Dolphins. Sackor leaped for a distance of 12.74 meters in the triple jump, just losing out to FSU's Alonie Sutton by .01 and claiming second place overall.

When asked about the meet, Head Coach Ron Grigg expressed how pleased he was with the team's performance and what it meant for them moving forward. "We took some steps in a positive direction today, this gives us good momentum as we prepare for the ASUN championships next weekend " stated Coach Grigg.
The Dolphins will head to Lynchburg, VA to compete in those ASUN championships on both Friday February 25th and Saturday the 26th. Jacksonville will attempt to continue their steady improvement from meet to meet this season and bring home some hardware.
