CHARLESTON, SC - Frantiska Lunackova shot a final round 71 (-1) to lift Jacksonville Women's Golf to a sixth-place finish in the Rivertowne Intercollegiate at Rivertowne Country Club.
After back-to-back 77's (+5) in rounds one and two, Lunackova would find success in round three on the back nine, firing two birdies and no bogeys in route to a 34 (-2). Combining that with two bogeys and a birdie on the front nine, she would finish one under and in 12
th place overall.
Also performing well for the Dolphins were
Jenna Fonda and
Laura Pasalodos who both shot a final round score of 76 (+4).
Fonda found her struggles in round three on holes 12-15 where she made four consecutive bogeys. Pasalodos started strong with birdies on hole 4-6, but also added two doubles and three bogeys in her final round.
Rounding out the scoring for the Dolphins were
Casey Powell and
Macarena Aguilera who fired a 77 (+5) and 79 (+7) respectively.
Aguilera made eight bogeys and only one birdie in her final round. Powell had slightly more birdies on her card with five but also added a triple bogey on hole 14 which was hard to recover from.
From a team scoring standpoint the Dolphins placed well claiming second in birdies scored with 33, and third in par-5 scoring with a combined score of +1.
JU will be off for almost three weeks before they are back on the course on Sunday, March 20 in the Bama Beach Bash at Gulf Shores Country Club.
