ORLANDO, Fla. – The Dolphins traveled to Central Florida to participate in the UCF Knights Invitational on Friday, March 25th and Saturday, March 26th.
JU closed out day one with twelve top-ten finishes, as four Dolphins would place second in their respective events. Led by Adja Sackor followed Alyssia Richard, Alexis Williams, and Hayleigh Palotti to continue their impressive stretch of placements dating back to the indoor season.
Alyssia Richard would also place third in shot put (14.59m) as her and Alana Lecointe would combine for four top-six finishes on day one alone for the throwers.
In day two, the Dolphins would find the first-place podium in three events. Leading the way for JU again was Adja Sackor as she would place first in the triple jump with 13.11m. Madison Jones would follow with her continuing success in the 3000 run, placing first with a time of 10:08.07, almost an entire minute ahead of the next closest competitor. Lastly, a team of Precious Ogba, Alexis Williams, Pashen Williams, and Nicole McKenzie placed first in the 1600 relay with a time of 3:39.06.
The Dolphins have plenty of positives to take from this first outdoor meet of the season. Their next meet comes in just five days (March 31st to April 2nd) as they travel to Gainesville to participate in the Pepsi Florida Relays hosted by Florida.
