GAINESVILLE, Fla. – The Dolphins traveled to Gainesville to participate in the 2022 Pepsi Florida Relays hosted by the University of Florida. After a rain out on day one, day two brought some success for JU.
JU closed out Friday with some personal bests, improvements, and marks good enough to be in the all-time conversation for Dolphins program history. First, Alana Lecointe would match her personal best in the Hammer throw with a distance of 48.26m.
In her season debut in the 3000 Steeplechase, Hayleigh Palotti took home first place with a time of 10:13.26, a mark that is fast enough for consideration in the NCAA Regionals. Another stellar running performance came from stand-out freshman, Madison Jones. Jones ran a 17:06.65 time in her 5K, placing her third all-time in JU program history.
The Dolphins will look to continue that success into tomorrow for the final day of the Pepsi Florida Relays, barring any further weather delays.

"It was a nice first day with lots of positives across a variety of event areas. If the weather cooperates, we hope to see more of the same tomorrow."
