JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The Dolphins traveled just fifteen minutes to take part in the UNF Invitational Friday and Saturday. With the ASUN Championship right around the corner, JU scored twelve top-ten finishes with multiple personal and team achievements.
On day one, Alyssia Richard started the Dolphins with a fifth-place finish in the Shot Put, posting a mark of 14.56m. Alana Lecointe followed with her own fifth-place finish in the Hammer Throw, with a mark of 49.75m.
A few hours later Adja Sackor placed fourth in the Long Jump, while Alexis Williams ran the 200 Dash. Williams placed seventh with a mark of 23.76. Emma Sullivan later ran the 1500 and placed fifth with a time of 4:24.36. Her time placed her third all-time in JU history.
Hayleigh Palotti would end the day with Madison Jones in the 5000 Invitational Run. While Jones placed eighth, Palotti placed second and set a new school record in the 5000 with a time of 16:46.00.
On day two, Sackor opened the Dolphins with a second-place finish in the Triple Jump and a score of 12.94m. Another second-place finish followed as Kristi Snyman scored a 1.68m mark in the High Jump.
Another historical JU mark occurred shortly after as a team of Alexis Williams, Precious Ogba, Cassie Thompson, and Alliann Johnson took second place in the 400 relay. Their time of 44.59 is good for number three all-time in JU history.
Anna Greentree scored a personal best and ninth place finish in the 800-meter run, while Alexis Williams finished ninth as well in the 400 Dash.
There are plenty of positives from this weekend and an exciting road ahead with just two weeks until the ASUN Championship and NCAA qualifying in place.
