Colin Hinton was selected with the 31st overall pick (Round 4, 7th selection) of the 2022 Premier Lacrosse League College Draft.

The selection marks the second time in the past 12 months that Hinton has been drafted, as he was taken 88th overall in the 2021 NLL Entry Level Draft by the Halifax Thunderbirds.
The Kensington, Md. product ended his Dolphin career with a list of career accolades, including being the 2022 Southern Conference Defensive Player of the Year, a 2022 SoCon First Team selection, an Inside Lacrosse Midseason All-American in 2022, 2022 USA Lacrosse Magazine All-American, and a 2021 SoCon Second Team choice.
Hinton finished second on the team with 41 groundballs, adding 16 caused turnovers in 2022. In 36 career collegiate contests, Hinton recorded 67 groundballs and 40 caused turnovers.
