JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – After a strong start on day one, the Dolphins were forced to be stronger today, battling weather conditions for yet another time this season.
On day two of the ASUN Championships, JU began their day in the rain as a lightning delay pushed their start back by an hour and a half. However, it did not deter the Dolphins as they would finish with three top-three placements with more advancements to the finals.
Alyssia Richard scored a personal best in the shot put with a mark of 14.7m, good for second place and eight points towards her team score. Kristi Snyman also placed second with a mark of 1.76m in the high jump and another eight points towards JU's team score.
Later in the night, Hayleigh Palotti took part in the 3000 Steeplechase, running in 10:16.60, good for another second-place finish and eight more points.
With the final day ahead, JU currently resides in fifth place and has nine more finalists to come to help push that score even higher.
