Emma Sullivan Runs 800m at NCAA Regionals

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – Just two weeks removed from the ASUN Championship, Emma Sullivan took her talents to the NCAA East Preliminary round to compete in the 800-meter run.

Regionals began just one day ago when the men's side started their weekend. Today, it was the women's side to shine. In her sophomore year, Emma Sullivan has improved tremendously. Most recently, she ran 2:06.66 at the ASUN Championship, a time she improved even further at regionals.

Starting in the fourth heat, Sullivan was ranked forty-first coming into the 800m run. She ran the event in 2:06.23, good for twenty-seventh place, fourteen places higher than projected.

Quotable
Director of Track and Field Ron Grigg
"I am proud of Emma's effort. She chose to do the work that yielded incredible improvement. Qualifying for the East Prelims itself is a great accomplishment...She gained valuable experience that will help in future seasons. "

The Dolphins have five more events on the schedule approaching on Saturday, May 28th.
