BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – The Dolphins' track and field season came to an end this Saturday as they completed the NCAA East Preliminaries.
Coming into the second day for women, the Dolphins had five events scheduled; the high jump, 4x100M relay, 3000M steeplechase, the triple jump, and the 4x400M relay.
In those events, while JU had exceeded expectations in some, heartbreak crept into the events as well. Both Hayleigh Palotti and Kristi Snyman exceeded their ranks as Snyman began the day ranked 39th and finished 33rd. Palotti was ranked 27th coming into the event and finished 21st.
The heartbreak came as Adja Sackor missed qualifying for the NCAAs by just one centimeter and the 4x400 relay team missed it by just one place.
Though the season comes to an end, many of the careers of the JU squad do not and there is plenty to take from this season into the next.

Director of Track and Field Ron Grigg
"There are positives that can be taken into next year. I am so thankful for the careers of our seniors finishing their eligibility. Adja, Chidinma, Pashen, and Sadae have contributed so much to our program's success and have grown tremendously. Even in what feels like defeat today, there are lessons to be learned for the world outside of track and field."
