BOCA RATON, Fla. – Freshman Issy Hopkins recorded her first career top-10 finish to lead the way for Jacksonville University women's golf at the Jupiter Women's Invitational on Tuesday.

The Dolphins finished fifth overall at Johnathan's Landing Golf Club.

Hopkins shook off a tough start in her final round to shoot a 74 and finish T9. She bogeyed three of her first four holes of the day, but steadied herself with a string of three pars beginning on hole #5, and wrapped her front nine with back-to-back birdies. Her back nine consisted of seven more pars to conclude her day.

Casey Powell finished the event T13 after a mostly steady day. She sank seven pars in her first nine holes, including a stretch into the back-nine that consisted of five in a row. She carded seven more pars on the back nine, finishing her day with 14 total for a 74. She led JU in Par-4 scoring.

Gemma Burgess shot the best round among all Dolphins on Tuesday, carding a 73. She started very well, sitting -1 through three. After she gave a stroke back, she birdied the Par-4 6th and concluded the front nine with three-straight pars. She birdied her first hole on the back, but hit a problem stretch after that, going plus-strokes on four of her next five holes. After settling down, the end of the day was strong, with a fourth birdie sandwiched in-between a pair of pars to finish it. Her -5 scoring on Par-5s was the best in the field and she led JU and was tied for second overall with 11 total birdies.

Ivete Rodrigues finished T23 after a final round 74. She parred her first five holes of the day, before closing the front nine with two in the final four. Her first hole after the turn was a birdie, and she added one more on the Par-4 15th, along with three more birdies in all.

Jenna Fonda made six pars on the front nine, added three more on the back and also had a pair of birdies on the day. She led JU in total pars, with 35, and Par-3 scoring in the event. Freshman Maria Eir Goujonsdottir, playing as an individual, turned in her best round of the week, making birdies on the Par-4 5th and 15th holes and adding eight pars.

JU finished tied for the team-lead in Par-5 scoring in the event, shooting -3 on such holes. The groups 35 total birdies were also second-most overall.

The team returns to the course at the Edisto Island Invitational in Charleston, S.C. on October 16-17.
