GREENVILLE, NC. — The Jacksonville Women's Golf team finished 10th at the 2025 Pirate Collegiate Classic held at the Greenville Country Club. The team posted scores of 303-295-299, for a combined total score of +33.
Erin Marcelino was the standout performer for Jacksonville in the first round. Despite facing some early adversity and shooting two over through five holes, she rebounded with three birdies to finish at even par early on Monday.
Issy Hopkins and Hannah Lowery also played well on Monday morning, each shooting in the 70s. Together, they combined for a total score of one over on the back nine.
Round Two started strong for the Dolphins, with the team recording seven birdies in the first four holes. Lowery continued her impressive day, achieving three birdies and one eagle before the turn. She added four more birdies on the back nine, finishing with a Jacksonville team best score of 70, which tied for the fifth-best score overall during Monday's Round Two.
Bretton Mackiewicz had one of her best rounds of the tournament in Round Two, carding a three-over par 75 that included three birdies. The score was also her best of the young season.
Alexis Rieli posted her best score of the season during Round Two, scoring a five-over 77. The Dolphins combined for +7 in Round Two, their best single-round score of the season, and the strong showing catapulted the Dolphins into ninth place heading into Tuesday's Round Three.
Jacksonville carried some of that momentum into Tuesday, with all four members of the scoring lineup finishing at either even par or one over par through the first nine holes. The team also registered eight birdies before the turn.
Another solid showing for the Dolphins on Tuesday, where the team posted a strong score of +11. Jacksonville recorded scores of 74, 75, 75, and 75.
