JACKSONVILLE, FLA – Jacksonville University track and field junior Kristi Snyman punched her ticket to the NCAA Nationals in the High Jump with a mark of 1.82m Saturday afternoon. She has qualified for the NCAA Nationals for the second time in the last three seasons.
Four student-athletes represented JU at the NCAA east Prelims. On Thursday, Coach Bambu Brundage guided junior Alyssia Richard to a 15.49m performance, setting a personal record. She is the second all-time shot-put at JU.
Freshman Mariandree Chacon executed an outstanding 100m race, she will compete overseas representing her hometown Guatemala and the Dolphins at the Central American U20 Championship.
Lastly, Graduate Student Hayleigh Haid ran her final race as a Dolphin, she finished top 13 in the 3,000m steeplechase with a time of 10:06.02 Saturday evening. She finished her career with the best JU all time performances in the 3k and 5k.
Snyman will compete at the 2023 NCAA Division 1 Outdoor Track and Field Championships on Saturday, June 10 at 7pm CT.
