Jacksonville Falls At Central Arkansas

CONWAY, Ark. -- Jacksonville got a pair of goals from Manuela Restrepo but it wasn't enough in the end as the Dolphins fell to Central Arkansas 3-2 Sunday (Oct. 13) on the road.

With the loss, Jacksonville dropped to 3-9-2 overall and 2-5-1 in ASUN action.

How it Happened

Central Arkansas started the scoring with a goal in the 32nd minute and JU went into half down 1-0.

Out of halftime the Dolphins evened the game on the first goal from Restrepo, her fifth goal of the season, in the 48th minute. Central Arkansas answered the scoring with two goals of its own until Restrepo found pay dirt again in the 89th minute.

With the team playing up, Hannah Bielicke looped a ball on net that hit the Central Arkansas keeper and bounced right to a streaking Restrepo. The goal finished off the 3-2 game.

Following a brace by Logan Gonzales during the team's win over North Alabama, Restrepo answered with one of her own. The pair each have five goals this season and have 10 of the team's 14 goals scored. Restrepo led the way in terms of total shots against the Bears, taking six of the team's 10. Early in the match, Restrepo and the Dolphins thought they had a goal off a Restrepo rip at the crossbar that was reviewed and ruled a no-goal.

Coaches Comments
