EDISTO ISLAND, S.C. - The Jacksonville University women's golf team ended with a top-three finish at the Edisto Island Invitational hosted by the College of Charleston. The Dolphins had two top-10 finishers, with Susana Olivares leading the team earning a second place finish.

Olivares was steady throughout, holding a spot in the top-five for the majority of the tournament, finishing at two-under-par. She was one of just three golfers in the field of 90 to finish under-par. The Mexico native shot two-under in the first and one-under in the second, finishing the tournament with a one-over-par third round. It was Olivares second consecutive top-10 finish, earning ninth at the Pat Bradley Invitational.

Second for Jacksonville and ninth overall was Ivete Rodrigues, who moved up three spots in the final round. Rodrigues was consistent throughout, shooting three-over, one-over and two-over-par in her three rounds.

Third for the team was Sophia Perkins, finishing in a tie for 28th at 12-over-par, six strokes behind Rodrigues. Perkins used a solid one-over-par scorecard in the second round, to put herself amongst the top-30 finishers.

Rounding out the scoring lineup was Erin Marcelino, continuing a strong season, earning a spot in 47th. After a tough second round, Marcelino found her form again, shooting four-over in the final round.

Next for the Dolphins is the Mercer Invitational in Forsyth, Ga. on Monday and Tuesday (Oct. 28-29). Jacksonville will look to continue a recent run of success, earning a pair of top-three finishes in the last three events.
