The Jacksonville University baseball team concluded its Fall Ball World Series with an exciting game three as Team Gold defeated Team Green 5-2 to claim the series.
Game 1:
Team Green dominated in Game 1, defeating Team Gold with a 7-0 victory. Alex Walsh was electric on the mound, tossing 4.1 innings of one-hit baseball with seven strikeouts. The Green offense came alive, led by Blake Edmonds (1-2, HR, 2 R, 3 BB), who launched a two-run homer, and Chandler Howard (2-4, 2B, 2 R, RBI). Green's commanding win set the tone for the series.
Game 2:
Team Gold edged out Team Green 2-1 behind Blake Delamielleure's clutch two-run homer in the top of the sixth inning. Pitchers Blake Barquin (4 IP, 7 K, 2 H, 0 R) and Richard Long (4.1 IP, 5 K, H, R) kept hitters off balance throughout the game. Reliever Chris Lotito earned the win with a scoreless inning, and Aaron Zenus closed it out for the save, forcing a decisive Game 3.
Game 3:
Team Gold clinched the series with a 5-2 victory in the rubber match. Key contributions came from Josh Steidl (2-2, HR, 2B, 2 RBI) and Clayton Hodges, who scored twice and stole three bases. Starter Anthony Cordero delivered 3.2 scoreless innings with four strikeouts, while Nick Anello earned the win in relief.
The series was a competitive finale to fall ball, giving fans and coaches a glimpse of what's ahead in the upcoming 2025 season.
