JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — After 36 holes at the Sea Best Intercollegiate, the Jacksonville University women's golf team sits in 11th place, with two players holding spots in the top 26. JU carded a two-round team score of 604, sitting at 19-over-par.
Casey Powell leads the team, sitting in a tie for 20th with a four-over-par score. Powell finished with a 73 (+1) in the first round, good enough for a spot in 18th before dropping into a tie for 20th after a 75 (+3) in the second round.
Dolphin newcomer
Fernanda Lacaz is second on the team after a five-over-par day, sitting in a tie for 26th. Lacaz finished the first round in a tie for 10th after an even-par 72, finding trouble on the back nine of the second round, carding a second-round 77 (+5). (t-60)
Ivete Rodrigues sits in a tie for 43rd after a solid back nine of the second round, finishing at one-over-par during that stretch. Rodriguez finishes the day at eight-over-par after shooting three-over-par in the first and five-over-par in the second.
A pair of Dolphins round out the lineup, with
Maria Eir Gudjonsdottir (t-60) and
Issy Hopkins (t-62) shooting a 79 and 78 in the second round.
Campbell leads the tournament as the only team under par, shooting one-under-par as a team. Varatkarn Kunkaew of Coastal Carolina leads on the individual leaderboard at three-under-par. JU kicks off the final 18 holes at 8:30 a.m.
