DEBARY, Fla. —Casey Powell took home individual medalist honors as the Jacksonville University women's golf team finished fourth at the Babs Steffens Invitational. Powell earned the medalist honors after her birdie on the final hole of the day to take the victory by one stroke.
Powell shot a one-over 73 in the final round, complimenting her second-round 71 to earn the victory. Powell's victory marks the second time in two tournaments she has finished at the top of the leaderboard, finishing as the runner-up at the Bama Beach Bash.
Ivete Rodrigues finished second for Jacksonville, shooting a 79 in harsh conditions to find a spot in the top-25, finishing tied for 24th.
In a tie for 27th was
Issy Hopkins, who finished one stroke behind Rodrigues on the day. Hopkins was part of a trio of Dolphins to finish near each other as
Fernanda Lacaz grabbed a spot in 30th, rounding out the scoring lineup for JU with all four golfers in the top-30 finishers.
Maria Eir Gudjonsdottir finished out the lineup for the Dolphins in a tie for 41st. Tournament host Stetson took home the team title, finishing at 50-over-par as a team.
