Dolphins Earn Fourth Place, Pick Up Third Top-5 Finish of the Season

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. — Earning its third top-5 finish in six appearances this season, the Jacksonville University women's golf team took home fourth place, outdueling 12 of 16 team at the Huntsville.org Intercollegiate.
On a week where three different Dolphins led the way in each round, Ivete Rodrigues took the honors on the final day, shooting even-par facing just one significant setback on the third hole, bouncing back with four birdies in the round. Rodrigues earned a spot in 21st place, finishing second overall for the Dolphins in the event.
Casey Powell finished first on the team, anchoring JU with consistent rounds and placing 15th. Overall, Powell finished at ten-over-par, shooting a three-over 75 in the third and final round.
Issy Hopkins added another top-20 finish to the lineup, earning 18th place after a three-over-par day in the third round, wrapping up the event at 12-over.
Maria Eir Gudjonsdottir finalized the scoring lineup tying for a spot in 43rd, holding strong after a career day in the second round.

The Dolphins will embark on another trip to Alabama, heading to the Bama Beach Bash, hosted by UAB at the Gulf Shores Golf Club in Gulf Shores, Ala., on March 17-19.
