GAINESVILLE, Fla. – In Jacksonville track and field's second indoor meet of the season, the team came home with some hardware. After a successful first meet, Jacksonville built upon its showing and turned that into two podium placements in the 200m dash and the 4x400 relay.
Star runner
Cassie Thompson claimed first in the 200, running a 24.02 split to take the gold. Thompson was .68 seconds faster than the next runner.
To close out the second day of racing, the 4x400 team also took home first with Thompson as part of the unit.

Cassie Thompson all contributed to the team's showing.
In the final, the girls ran a blistering 3:50.14 which was a whole 10 seconds faster than the second-place team from Florida Atlantic.
Starting the festivities in central Florida, Sue-Kam-Ling earned herself a second-place finish in the long jump. She jumped a 5.44, giving herself a .08 meter cushion over the third place jumper.
Eva Bellot, competing in the high jump, earned sixth place with a 1.55 meter leap.
The freshman Geter in the triple jump earned herself a third place spot with an 11.84 distance.
On the track,
Cassidra Thompson and Rogers each participated in the 400. Thompson took home fifth place with a 56.97 split while Rogers earned 11
th with a 58.24 time.
The Dolphins were well represented in the 1000m, sporting six different runners.
Annah Priyadi led the pack with a fourth place finish, followed by
Josephine Leonard in fifth. Priyadi outpaced Leonard by just .16 seconds.

th).
During the second day of competition, Geter earned herself an eighth-place finish in the 60 hurdles.
Rounding out the meet was the first place 4x400 team standing atop as the best relay team in Gainesville.
"We had solid performances this week and it's clear our distance group's hard work in training is paying off in competition," head coach
Bambi Brundage said. "Our sprint and jump groups continue to make strides in the right direction. With a month to go until the conference championship, we're focused on getting back to work and making consistent progress."
Next up for JU is a week off before returning to Gainesville once more for the Celebration Point Classic. That meet serves as the final indoor meet before the ASUN Indoor Championships in Louisville Feb. 27-28.
