JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Head Coach
John Galloway and the Jacksonville men's lacrosse program have named
Jack Taylor,
Charlie DiGennaro, and
Aaron Toguri as team captains for the upcoming 2026 season.
Taylor and DiGennaro return to their captain roles, having served the team last season. Toguri joins the leadership group and will help guide a determined and exciting young unit of defensemen this season.
Expressing his gratitude and enthusiasm for the opportunity, Toguri said, "First off, it's an absolute honor to have been named a captain. I can't thank my coaches, teammates, and mentors enough for shaping me into the man I am today. I've been a part of this incredible program for four years now and have seen this place grow and flourish, so this really means everything to me. I've learned so much from the incredible leaders before me and am ready to continue to work with these guys day in and day out."
Head Coach John Galloway said the decision to add Toguri was easy, citing his complete commitment to the program. "If you have had the chance to get to know Aaron Toguri, you would know how easy this decision was for our staff," he said. "Our constant search for leaders is focused not only on young men who know the way, but also ones who are willing to show the way. Aaron has been an embodiment of our program since he stepped on this campus, and I know he will continue to lead this group both with his voice and his actions. I have no doubt that our program is in a better place today with Aaron wearing the 'C' on his jersey."
Toguri earned First Team All-ASUN honors following a successful junior season where he finished second on the team in caused turnovers and led all Jacksonville defensemen in both ground balls and caused turnovers.
Taylor leads the offense after scoring 36 goals and adding 25 assists last year, earning him First Team All-ASUN honors and a USILA All-American nod. DiGennaro provides a veteran presence to the midfield group, entering his graduate season having appeared in 30 games over the last two years for Jacksonville.
