HUNTSVILLE, Ala. - For the third consecutive year, Jacksonville Beach Volleyball has earned an at-large bid to the AVCA National Championships. This go-around, juniors
Meredith Mrukowski and
Hayden Garnett will represent the 'Phins in the pairs national championships.
"We are extremely excited to compete in this tournament," said head coach
Dylan Hough. "It brings together the top 64 pairs in the country and serves as a tremendous opportunity for our beach volleyball program, the university, and our student-athletes to represent Jacksonville University on a national stage."
The championships are becoming a yearly tradition for Hough's program. In 2023, the duo of
Emily Kubicsko and
Katie Martinez represented the Dolphins. Then in 2024, Kubicsko returned, this time being selected alongside
Meredith Mrukowski.
Last season, Garnett competed in 28 matches, earning 10 victories alongside partner
Kristina Nika and 2 more with
Katie Martinez.
Meredith Mrukowski also saw action in six matches, picking up one win with partner
Kate Taylor. The duo looks to make an impact on a national stage for Jacksonville Beach.
The weekend tournament is set to kickoff on Friday, November 7th, at The John Hunt Park Sand Volleyball Complex. For more information,
