Jacksonville to face Bellarmine in ASUN Championship Semifinals

LOUISVILLE, Ky. - The Dolphins remain hot.

Following a 2-0 win over Lipscomb Saturday night, the Dolphins look to continue their postseason run Monday evening versus the top-seeded Bellarmine Knights.

The Dolphins (6-7-4) advanced to the semifinal round after an emphatic 2-0 victory over Lipscomb in Saturday's quarterfinal. With the win, JU secured its sixth clean sheet of the season and extended its strong late-season form, improving to 4-1-2 over its last seven matches.

Jacksonville now faces Gold Division champion Bellarmine (8-3-4), who earned a bye into the semifinals after capturing the program's first-ever ASUN regular-season title. Monday's match marks the first meeting between the two sides in 2025 and the first-ever postseason clash. Bellarmine holds a narrow 2-1-1 advantage in the series, but Jacksonville looks to reverse that trend on the Knights' home turf.

The Knights enter unbeaten at home this season (6-0 overall, 3-0 in ASUN play) and are led by retiring head coach Tim Chastonay, who guided BU to its sixth straight ASUN Championship appearance and fifth semifinal berth.

On the offensive end, sophomore forward Johan Nissen-Lie has emerged as the key difference-maker for Bellarmine this season. He leads the team with nine goals and recently recorded the first Division I-era hat trick in program history.

In goal, senior graduate transfer Peter Van Euwen has been the backbone of Bellarmine's staunch defense. The Knights have allowed the least amount of goals in the ASUN (14) so far this season. With Bellarmine unbeaten at home (6-0) and holding opponents to just 14 goals through 15 matches (0.93 per game) as a team, Van Euwen's consistency and presence in goal are huge factors.

Jacksonville's balanced attack and defensive discipline have fueled its late-season surge. The Dolphins have scored multiple goals in each of their last four wins, while Sekanina and the back line have held opponents to one goal or fewer in six of the last seven matches.

The Dolphins aim to remain in sync and punch their ticket to the ASUN Championship final.

Kickoff between Jacksonville and Bellarmine is scheduled for 7 p.m. (ET) Monday at Frazier Stadium. Live coverage will be available on ESPN+.
