Hall and Gonzalez Lead Jacksonville’s ASUN Postseason Honors

JACKSONVILLE, Fla - Five different Jacksonville men's soccer players have been named to various All-ASUN teams, the league office announced Wednesday.

Leading the way was defender Logan Hall, who was voted the ASUN Freshman of the Year and was also voted unanimously to the All-Freshman Team. He is the first JU player to be named conference Freshman of the Year in program history.

Hall contributed the second most minutes on the team and finished the season with one goal, three assists and five points. Two of his three assists came in critical ASUN matchups versus FGCU, where he delivered key playmaking moments in both contests. He was also named the ASUN Defensive Player of the Week on October 6.

The freshman arrived at JU with an elite pedigree, previously being named Florida's Gatorade Player of the Year, as well as the Sun Sentinel and Miami Herald Player of the Year.

Midfielder Juan Pablo Gonzalez also headlined Jacksonville's postseason awards, earning First Team All-ASUN recognition following one of the league's most productive attacking seasons.

Gonzalez led the Dolphins in goals (5) and points (11), and ranked amongst the top ten in multiple ASUN offensive numbers. The senior served as JU's most consistent scoring threat and was a driving force within the Dolphins' attacking unit all year.

His singular goals vs Georgia State (10/14), Stetson (10/18) and Lipscomb* (11/08) propelled Jacksonville to key wins and sustained a hot offense late in the year.

In addition to Hall, four total Dolphins were named to the All-Freshman team, the most for a single-season in school history.

Matias Tobon, one of JU's three unanimous All-Freshman selections, was a major contributor in his first collegiate season. After moving to Colombia from the U.S. at age 14, Tobon developed through the U-20 system at South American powerhouse Atlético Nacional, experience that quickly translated at Jacksonville.

He finished second on the team in goals (3), second in assists (3), and second in points (9). Tobon delivered in big moments as well, recording both a goal and an assist in JU's 2–0 win over UTRGV (8/31) and again in the 2–0 victory over Georgia State (10/14).

Dante Wright, also a unanimous choice, made his mark before his season was cut short due to injury.

Wright was highly efficient, finishing fifth on the team in goals (2) while also adding an assist across just 613 minutes of action. His ability to produce in a short window underscored his potential as one of JU's most dynamic young attackers.

Christian Wahlstroem rounded out JU's All-Freshman honorees after emerging as one of the Dolphins' top creators in the midfield. In his debut campaign, Wahlstroem led the team in assists with four and finished fourth on the roster in points (6). His passing vision and composure in possession made him a productive player in his freshman season.

Earlier Wednesday, the league office announced that six Dolphins were also named to the ASUN All-Academic Team.
