HUNTSVILLE, Ala. - Jacksonville University men's and women's cross country wrapped up the 2025 season on Friday morning at John Hunt Park, competing at the NCAA South Regional Championships. The Dolphins delivered a strong postseason outing, highlighted by six individual PRs and three new additions to the JU all-time women's 6K performance list.
JU Women's XC closed the year with a statement performance, posting major individual milestones and finishing ahead of three regional opponents, including Stetson, who edged JU at the ASUN Championships two weeks ago.
Freshman Isabel Devos continued her standout debut season, clocking a 21:42 to finish 9th on Jacksonville's all-time 6K list. Her :57 PR marks one of the largest jumps into the top-10 in program history and capped a freshman campaign that saw her emerge as JU's consistent frontrunner.
Senior Madeline Weiler delivered a massive postseason breakthrough of her own, running 22:26 -- a 1:23 PR -- to move up to No. 16 all-time on the program's 6K list. Fellow senior Jordan Dix also secured a historic day, running 22:41 for a 49-second PR, placing her No. 20 all-time and giving Jacksonville three athletes on the all-time list in the same regional meet.
Junior Lana Grelli turned in another impressive performance with a :32 PR to finish in 22:59, while sophomore Alexis Holmes notched a :39 PR with a time of 23:11. Graduate student Mya Bodrato, after battling through a tough stretch of the season, fought hard to close out her cross country career with a 23:23.
"This was the cherry on top of a fun few days in Huntsville. From a team perspective, the women had the best day we could have possibly had, beating three teams and getting redemption on Stetson. We look forward to continuing to move up in the region," Head Coach Jordan Garman said.
He added, "Izzy, Madeline, and Jordan running big PRs to break into our top-20 all-time 6K list was huge. Alexis and Lana also stepped up with strong PRs, and even on a tough day, Mya fought through as she always does. This was an awesome way to end the season, and we're excited to carry this momentum into track."
Jacksonville's men's team closed out the season with steady individual performances across the board in their longest race of the year.
Senior Jack Bolan led the Dolphins with a time of 33:50, pacing the squad through the early stages and maintaining a strong rhythm through the 7K split. Junior Ryan Miller followed with a 34:20, while sophomore Zach Earley crossed in 34:35 after holding a good pace throughout the back half of the course.
Freshman Caleb Brigman continued his development with a 35:51.912, and junior Gabe Edwards rounded out the Dolphin lineup in 36:20Â to complete Jacksonville's five-man scoring group.
With three women breaking into the program's all-time list and six total Dolphins recording PRs, Jacksonville capped the 2025 cross country season with clear signs of growth and upward trajectory. The team now transitions into winter training and looks ahead to carrying this momentum into the upcoming track campaign.Â
