PENNSAUKEN, N.J. --- The Jacksonville women's rowing team competed at the Dad Vail Regatta this weekend, completing the last event before the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference championships.
The Dolphins rowed three crews for the week: the Novice 4+, the Varsity 4+ and a Single.Â
Sophomore
Vivianna Coppa, who took home a Single title earlier this season at the SIRA Regatta, raced again in the Single. She placed eighth in the opening time trial, finishing in 09:29.434.
She took that finish to Semi-Final 1, where she comfortably cruised to second place in 09:20.200, more than five seconds clear of third place. That earned her a place in Saturday's grand final, competing for the Dave McCormick Trophy.Â

The Novice 4+ turned in a solid weekend as well. In the opening time trial, they finished in 08:31.918 for a comfortable fifth-place finish. That put the Dolphins into Semi-Final 1, where they placed even higher with a third-place spot in 08:31.376.
After a strong Friday of racing, Jacksonville's Novice 4+ earned a place in the Grand Final Saturday. The Dolphins secured fourth place, finishing in 08:22.991.
