JACKSONVILLE, Fla. --- The Jacksonville women's basketball team announced new additions to the coaching staff for the 2025-26 season.
The Dolphins added Shenneika Smith as an assistant coach and Director of Player Development and Sharay Hall as an assistant coach and recruiting coordinator. Smith comes to Jacksonville following a successful seven-year stint as an assistant coach at her alma mater, St. John's. She helped lead recruiting and player development for the Red Storm. As part of the 2022-23 staff, Smith helped St. John's to a 23-9 and a win in the NCAA tournament.
"Bringing Shenneika Smith onto our staff is a game-changer," JU head coach Special Jenning said. "She brings championship-level experience, a professional pedigree and a relentless commitment to player development."
Smith is one of the best players in St. John's history and competed at the highest levels of the game in her career. She earned Women's Basketball Coaches Association All-American honors as a senior and was a two-time first-team All-Big East honoree. She was inducted into the St. John's Hall of Fame in 2021.
She was the 25th overall pick in the 2013 WNBA draft by the New York Liberty and played four seasons of professional basketball. Smith also spent six years representing Jamaica on the international stage, including winning the 2014 FIBA Women CBC Championship.
"She's competed at every level and she knows exactly what it takes to win," Jennings said. "We are lucky to have her."
Hall joins the Dolphins after two seasons at Rider University. She's coached at all levels of college basketball, including head coaching stops at Millersville and Pittsburgh-Bradford. She also served as an assistant coach at Colgate where she was named to the WBCA 30 under 30 list. In her time at Rider, she led the Broncs to a conference tournament win over Iona.
"Adding Sharay Hall to our staff is a tremendous asset," Jennings said. "Her experience at every collegiate level, combined with a sharp basketball mind and relentless drive, makes her a difference maker."
Hall is known for her player development and recruiting acumen, developing multiple all-conference and All-American players at all levels of basketball.
"She's proven she can build winners, develop elite talent, and elevate everyone around her," Jennings said. "We're lucky to have her."
