DELAND, Fla. – Jacksonville University men's soccer fell 3-2 to Stetson on Saturday night in ASUN play. After the Hatters got off to an early 2-0 lead, the Dolphins rallied back and tied the game before the break.

While the Dolphins (4-5-2, 0-3-2 ASUN) erased a two-goal first-half deficit, a Stetson goal early in the second half proved to be the difference.

Stetson opened the scoring in the 18th minute before adding another in the 22nd to take a 2-0 lead. Jacksonville responded quickly after Dante Wright entered the match, with Wright scoring just over a minute later off an assist from Emanuel Cappello to cut the deficit to one. It marked Wright's second goal of the season.

Jacksonville pulled even in the 40th minute when Nassim Akki scored his first goal of the season off an assist from Leonardo Santos, sending the match into halftime tied at 2-2. Akki's goal stands tall after a bounce back from a lower leg injury that kept him sidelined for two years.

Stetson regained the lead in the 51st minute on a goal from Junior Essengue. The Dolphins continued to press for an equalizer, outshooting the Hatters 10-7 and earning seven corner kicks in the second half. Romain Spailier put an attempt on frame in the 76th minute, while Jacksonville generated three corners in the final nine minutes.

Simen Havig finished with six saves across 90 minutes. Jacksonville and Stetson each recorded 15 shots, while the Dolphins held an 8-3 advantage in corner kicks.
