JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Jacksonville sophomore middle blocker Addison Krieger was named the Atlantic Sun Defensive Player of the Week, the league announced Monday. This is Krieger's first ASUN recognition and the sixth weekly honor won by a Dolphin this season.

Krieger had a standout day against Queens this past Friday. The sophomore blocker recorded 10 total blocks (one solo, nine assisted) to lead Jacksonville's front line. Her 10 blocks were the most by an ASUN player this past week.

She has two double-digit block performances in her last four matches, recording a career-best 12 blocks (two solo, 10 assisted) against FGCU.

After a dominant outing against Queens, Krieger came back the following day with five blocks (one solo, four assisted) in a five-set win over league leaders West Florida. She averaged 1.67 blocks per set over two matches, most in the league for the week.

Krieger is having a breakout campaign. After not seeing game action as a true freshman, she's blossomed into one of the most productive blockers in the ASUN. She ranks third in the league with 1.13 blocks per set.

The Dolphins return to the court Friday when they travel to face the Stetson Hatters. First serve is slated for 6 PM.
