JACKSONVILLE, Fla. --- Jacksonville women's lacrosse earned its first weekly award of the season, as junior attacker
Maeve Brennan was named the Atlantic Sun's Offensive Player of the Week, the league announced Monday.
Brennan led the Dolphins to a 17-4 win over the Rider Broncs, propelling the Dolphins to their second 2-0 start in program history. Brennan led the team in points with five, scoring four goals and providing an assist.Â
She started hot early, dishing the ball to fellow junior
Jessica Giller for the second goal of the game. In the second quarter, she got her first two goals, including a finish on the man-up. She added another man-up goal in the third and capped off her five-point day with a four-quarter finish.
In addition to her scoring chops, Brennan's been productive on the ride this season. She had a caused turnover against Rider, and she recorded a caused turnover and four ground balls against Campbell in the season opener.
This is Brennan's second ASUN weekly award of her career. She earned the league's offensive player of the week award April 28, 2025, after a career-high eight points against Liberty. She was named to the All-ASUN Second Team and All-Tournament team last year.
Brennan and the Dolphins will host a pair of marquee games this weekend. The action starts against the Brown Bears Friday at 4 PM. Jacksonville will then battle the Marquette Golden Eagles Sunday at noon. Both games will be played at Rock Stadium and streamed live on ESPN+.
