JACKSONVILLE, Fla. --- Jacksonville senior
Jack Taylor was selected 31st overall by the Denver Outlaws in the 2026 Premier Lacrosse League college draft. He is the first Jacksonville player drafted into the league since Troy Hettinger in 2023.
Taylor becomes the eighth Dolphin to be drafted into professional outdoor lacrosse. He's the third player to be drafted in the PLL era, joining Hettinger and Colin Hinton. The senior from Westborough, Massachusetts is also the first offensive player to be drafted from JU since Eric Applegate in 2019.
The Dolphins have had nine players drafted into professional outdoor lacrosse and 18 players selected in any professional lacrosse draft.
Taylor has become one of the greatest players in Jacksonville lacrosse history over his four seasons. He's the third all-time leading scorer in program history, tallying 168 points over 59 games of action.
He's been one of the most productive offensive players in the country this season. Taylor is 12th nationally in points per game, averaging 4.64 per game. He's a premier playmaker, averaging 2.64 assists per game.
Taylor's as consistent as they come, recording at least three points in 18 straight games dating back to last season and in every game this season. He's recorded at least one point in every game each of the last two seasons.
He's done his work against the best of the best, as well. In three ranked games this season, he's averaged 3.3 points per game, scoring six goals and providing five assists.
Taylor's more than just an offensive weapon, chipping in defensively. He leads the country among offensive players in caused turnovers this season, recording 12 caused turnovers from his starting attack position.
In the PLL, he'll suit up alongside his current assistant coach,
JT Giles-Harris, with the Outlaws. Denver reached the league championship game a season ago, and Taylor will join a group featuring many of the game's top players including three Tewaaraton award winners.
